POLYTRON CHANGES NAME OF UPCOMING GAME FROM FEZ TO FEDGE
For immediate release
Montreal, November 11 2009 – International world leader in “Artificial Entertainment” Polytron Corporation is excited to announce a name change for its upcoming smash sensation, Fez.
Indeed! To better represent the edgy nature and aesthetic the game, and edges of squares and cubes, Polytron is proud to announce the name change from Fez to FEDGE!
We at Polytron Corporation are at the edge of everything, at the edge of other edges, so it only make sense to reflect this edgyness in our product’s name, which is now Fedge.
About Polytron:
Polytron is an edgy game developer.
About Fedge:
Fedge is a game about squares and cubes, which both have edges.
It’s been a great month for games so far, here are some of our faves.
Critter Crunch is a *beautiful* Magical Drop-style puzzle game for PS3. The attention to detail is spectacular, and the game is a blast to play. Check out the demo available tomorrow (10/22) on PSN. Great job Capybara! $6.99 on PSN. (Full disclosure: the gang at Capybara are friends of ours and are super awesome people.)
On the other side of the spectrum, Loren Schmidt’sStar Guard is an uber low-res platformer in a CGA color palette. Old school run/jump/shoot gameplay, great presentation. A free download for PC and Mac. (If you prefer joystick control, check out JoyToKey).
Arkedo’sJUMP!, a Xbox360 Indie Game is another retro-style game, and is retro-style HARD. 30 levels to get through, lots of coins/diamonds/1ups to collect along the way, and no continues. Hurts so good (if you’re into that sort of thing.) 240pts on XBLA.
Hey Montrealers,
I’ll be at Pecha Kucha next Wednesday talking about Polytron’s other game.
That mysterious non-Fez collaboration with Infinite Ammo.
Talking about the highs and lows of designing a multi-touch game for fun and profit.
Ch-ch-ch-check it out.
